Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information The Ayaba Experience collects when you use ayaoba.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
The short version: we only collect what you choose to send us through the enquiry form or the mailing list, we use it to reply to you, we do not sell it, and we do not track you around the internet. This site sets no cookies at all.
Who we are
The Ayaba Experience is a celebration experience brand based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name and email address, and optionally the occasion, the date of your celebration, what you are interested in, and anything you would like to tell us. We use this only to reply to you and to help you choose, personalise or hire the pieces you are asking about.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us a question and we need your details to answer it — and, where you go on to order from us, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
When you join the mailing list
We collect your email address so we can tell you about launches, new edits and seasonal collections. Our lawful basis is consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and every message we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
Technical information
When you submit a form, our website briefly records a one-way cryptographic hash derived from your IP address. This is used solely to stop the form being abused by automated spam, and it is deleted within a few hours. We do not store your IP address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, as all web hosts do.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts, images or embedded content from any third party. Everything the page needs is served from ayaoba.com itself. There is nothing here that tracks you, which is why you have not been asked to accept anything.
If we ever add analytics, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.
Where your information goes
Your enquiry is emailed to us and a copy is kept on our website's server so that a delivery failure cannot lose it. We use two service providers, both acting as processors on our instructions:

Both operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, those transfers are covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else for marketing.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. After that they are deleted.
- Mailing list — until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Order records — where you buy or hire from us, we keep the records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes, normally six years.
- Anti-spam hashes — a few hours.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to direct marketing at any time;
- provide it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent you have given, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
Email hello@ayaoba.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
